Born and raised in Japan, Mari Watase is an internationally recognized hairstylist, creative director, and entrepreneur based in New York.

After beginning her career as a hairstylist in Japan, Mari moved to New York, where she established herself in the fashion and beauty industry. Over the years, she has collaborated with some of the world's leading publications and luxury brands, including Vogue, Gucci,Coach, Maybelline , Revlon, Shiseido etc.

Represented by 87 Artists, Mari is the founder and creative director of Salon87, Hanare Japanese Organic Spa, and 87 Artists Agency in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to leading her businesses, she has worked backstage at New York, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks, contributing to runway shows, editorial productions, advertising campaigns, and celebrity projects.

Known for combining Japanese precision with modern, effortless style, Mari's work spans editorial, fashion, commercial, and luxury beauty, making her one of the most sought-after Japanese hairstylists based in New York.
